PUMA CATchup
Puma News App that keeps stakeholders and fans up to date

01
About the app
Puma CATch UP is the name of the Puma employee magazine, which mainly informs Puma employees worldwide, but also the general public about news from the Puma world.Â
With at least 13000 Puma employees, as well as numerous external stakeholders, the main task of this project was to present the delivery of the employee magazine website content optimized in apps for iOS and Android.

02
About the requirements
The requirements can be summarized simply:
- optimized UX/UI for every iOS and Android device after 2018
- Display of all content created to date (>1500 articles over the last 5 years)
- Extremely low crash rate among end users (<0.5%)
- Implementation of push notifications and analytics to generate traffic on the one hand and to be able to draw conclusions on the other hand
03
About the solution
At the beginning of the project, a PWA (Progressive Web App) already existed that rendered the website content via Webview on the devices of Puma employees. This implementation had minor quirks regarding push notifications and UI/UX rendering on the different devices, so appleute was tasked with rebuilding the app on React Native to iron out these quirks.Â
Here, the developed architecture envisions that the WordPress content of the website is projected to the app screens using React Native software components via API. A parser is used that reduces and sends the WordPress API calls to the essential components.
