Quantum Computing

In computer science, quantum computing means the ability to manipulate qubits using subatomic particles. It is a new field that is not yet widely used, but its potential is enormous. Quantum computers, for example, could perform thousands of calculations simultaneously. If these calculations were performed in real time, the computers could answer questions much faster than conventional computers.

Quantum computing is a type of computer architecture that takes advantage of the properties of quantum physics. Theoretically, it could be used to solve tasks that conventional computers cannot. The speed and accuracy of quantum computers can surpass that of classical supercomputers. IBM has already built a quantum computer, the QISKit, which is available for both desktop and cloud users.

These quantum computers have the potential to solve certain problems in exponentially fewer steps than classical computers. Quantum computers could also overcome current encryption systems and make data secure. However, it will be some time before quantum computers are widely available.
