MR - Mixed Reality

1 min read

Mixed reality is a term coined by Microsoft, a multinational technology company that produces computer software, when it released its prestigious project called "Microsoft HoloLens" in 2016. It consists of an advanced understanding of physical space and was able to project holograms into that space.

Mixed reality describes a new era of computer technology and visual interaction in which real-world objects are mixed with virtual objects. This technology allows us to interact with our surroundings in a way that feels completely natural and intuitive, exactly the way our brains are meant to process and understand. In this way, users can experience and interact with 3D objects in a virtual world that looks very similar to the real world.

Mixed reality headsets have been around for a few years now and have proven their worth, especially in games and industry. With major companies like Microsoft and Samsung launching their own offerings, the technology is now making its way into the consumer market. The big advantage for consumers is that with these headsets, they no longer have to wear traditional glasses or contact lenses. While virtual reality offers a highly immersive experience, mixed reality gives us the opportunity to see the real world through the glasses of a computer-generated image.
