The roots of natural language processing can be traced back to the 1950s. Alan Turing's 1950 article "Computing Machinery and Intelligence" proposed the Turing Test as a means of assessing intelligence. The test included a task that required automatic interpretation and generation of natural language, although at the time this was not a separate problem from artificial intelligence.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is an interdisciplinary field that encompasses linguistics, computer science, and artificial intelligence. The main focus is on developing computer programs that can process and analyze large amounts of natural language data to accurately capture the context of documents. In this way, they can extract valuable information and insights from documents and organize and categorize the documents themselves.

The challenges that arise in natural language processing often involve speech recognition, natural language understanding, and natural language generation.
